The second line was based on reviews... yet you called it before the reviews?

You've also ignored the fact that the second like could be simply because the reviewers thought like you did.

I mean DI has been nothing but a deluge of bad press and ripoff calls.

Vs something like Deadspace... which wasn't and had a lot of positive press.

"Dante’s Inferno copies God of War in every way possible, except the part that makes God of War really good: the epic scale, the fantastic build-up and original puzzles. These elements are simply lacking in Dante’s Inferno, and what remains is a brown version of the game that it was inspired by. EA could have done better with the source material."

"The works of both Dante Alighieri and David Jaffe are defiled in this shallow and puerile actioner."

"Despite its refusal to innovate, its blatant copying from the God of War rulebook, and its missed opportunities, Dante's Inferno is nonetheless a solid title. At the very least, it's an engaging prospect for Xbox loyalists who've never played a God of War game. However, with the likes of Darksiders and Bayonetta on the market (as well as God of War III in our sights), Dante's Inferno is the weakest proposition of the bunch."

I can pick some more if you want.

You seem to be missing the entire context of this debate.

I'll leave you and this thread with a simple story and hopefully you'll finally understand.

Back when Margarin was first around... it's sales were HORRIBLE. Regular people, food critics... everybody HATED it.

The creators of margarin were about to go out of buisness... until they brought in some marketing researchers.

They changed the color with a tasteless yellow dye, and wrapped it in tinfoil.

Suddenly everybody LOVED it... it tasted deliclious, it's flavor was rich... it was a new sensation.  Margarin is still around today... it's still remarkably popular and plenty of people still love the taste.

Critical comments are largely irrelevent since critics... even more so then you were caught up in the same deluge of negative news and comments regarding DI well before they even received a copy in their hands.

Is DI good or isn't it?  It's largely irrelevent in relation to it's score.  It was going to get a negative score either way unless it was someting genre defining and even then there is no gurantee... when in reality all DI was trying to be was a solid game.
