d21lewis said: In the history of cinema, one series stands above all others as the innovator of special effects, story, and beloved characters. To this day, it influences pop culture in a way that few other movie series can. Of course, I'm talking about Leprechaun. Warwick Davis is a genius!! But let's talk about Warwick's other work. Let's talk about Star Wars. Inspired by the "Favorite Star Wars Poll", let's pick apart George Lucas' cash cow. Pull no punches, people. Let's troll Star Wars!!!
All of the cool kids are doing it! You are cool, aren't you?
Kicking things off: What's the deal with the Star Wars language barrier? R2-D2 says "Beep beep, blorp". Luke Skywalker understands EXACTLY what he says. Chewbacca says "Grrrr......Roar.....Grrrrr". Han Solo understand EXACTLY what Chewie is saying. Hell, Han and Luke speak English back to them. Chewie and R2 (and pretty much everybody else that speaks an alien language) understand English.......but when it comes to Jaba the Hut? He says, "Han me bookie". It even sounds like "Han My boy". They need a C-3PO to translate Jaba's crude sounds. What's THAT all about? |
you've just killed starwars for me. Thanks d21lewis.
To be fair, you haven't - nothing could kill Star Wars for me. George Lucas tried by creating Episodes 1,2 and 3 but even he failed. Empire Strikes Back will always be special to me.
What about Jaa-Jaa Binks... did anyone know what he was saying? I was waiting for him to start shouting BRAP BRAP BRAP during the fighting scenes. Rubbish.
