Like NJ5 said though, the market is quite different now than 12-13 years ago. The competition is fiercer, Sony's name has been damaged a bit, and the PlayStation isn't this gen's market leader. A lot of factors to consider before completely breaking out the champagne. What it does show though, the PS3 may not be quite the market-share disaster as was once feared. So that's at least good thing. Congrats PS3! This is all while the PlayStation of gen 7 has yet to see a full WW release of a Final Fantasy or a Gran Turismo. I think Sony's good fortunes may just be getting started. |
actually playstation was the new face on the block against sega and nintendo.
sega was on is own mess, and nintendo kicked third party out.
ps3 may get a nice boost this fiscal year, going from 13+ million to 15 or 16.
