As a Californian, we've hearing about this shit for a while, and it pisses off even my Republican friends. This IS nothing short of trying to rig the election. You don't see either party proposing to split Texas based on districts. It fucking pisses me off. First, our state has no say in anything except when those greedy douche politicians need massive amounts of money. Fucking Kansas probably has more say than we do on the national political scene, and we'd be in the top 10 richest nations if we were our own country. And now we're used to butcher up the electoral college system. Fuck this shit. I can say with a fair amount of certainty though that this will not pass our vote. Initiatives like this tend to get a "no" from Californians, and you can bet that Democrats will not pull any stops fighting it (and for once, rightfully so). If this goes through, kiss goodbye to Democrats for at least a few decades. The imbalance caused by those 20 electoral votes will pretty much gurantee a Republican win for the next 3 elections even if they are behind by millions in popular votes.
