Must we go through this every week?

Sony reports sold to retailers (VGC calls this shipped, Sony calls it sold)
VGC reports sold to consumers (VGC calls this sold, Sony calls it sellthrough)

The PS3 numbers were adjusted down because the PS3 had been overtracked in the smaller European countries for 3-4 years.

this is kinda ironic...

sony had said the ps3 did some 31M by DEC 09..

while the 360 had done 39M, IOI said those are likely consumer sales

now when sony says 33M, they are shipped?

They can say their ass is on fire when in public,  but when it comes to financial reports they have to be very careful to follow the accounting principles set forth in previous reports without deviation. Shipped in the financial reports means the same as it meant in 2009 and 2008 but not 2007 since Sony changed the accounting method. If any changes to what shipped means, then it has to be clearly stated within the financial report of they will be heavily fined and possibly criminally charged.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
