I haven't heard anything that bad about PS3's disk drives.
I've got a launch 20 gig and it's still runnin.
If it breaks... I'll prolly try and fix it myself before i pay sony honestly. Needs my BC.
I wouldn't stress about it though...
I don't think there is reason to worry... and even if there is... why bother? It won't do you any good anyway.
