i hope not, ps3 is undertracked enough as it is already
no it isnt.
And to answer your other piont, how does it prove shortages in the US caused it to dip below 200k last week?.... US sales have hardly changed this week.
if we look at vgc's life time sales up to Jan 02, 2010, ps3 is at 30.8M

however, LTD Dec 09 shippment of PS3 is 33.5M
this would mean that at the end of 2009, there were about 2.7M ps3s sitting on shelves worldwide. but during december, there have been multiple reports that ps3s were selling out in their local stores and in online stores. if this is true, then almost all of the december shippment would have sold out to consumers (120gig probably, leaving the 250gig to rott in hell), meaning that there should be far less than 2.7M ps3s left sitting on shelves, meaning the ps3 is indeed undertracked anywhere from 700k-2M

Yeah, cos all PS3's built and shipped before the end of 2009 appear by osmosis on shelves immediately.... ever heard of a cargo ship? a truck? a warehouse? perhaps even forward orders.
and retailers around the world ordered and forward ordered an extrra 2.7M ps3s during the end of december so that they can sell all of it during january...say what? january? HAHAHAHAHA!
