I personally can't wait for this game. I'm glad that Sony were willing to take a risk with this project and it reinforces one of the reasons why I enjoy the PS brand so much, for the diversity it offers. People can classify Heavy Rain as whatever they want but whether you call it a game, an interactive movie or just a long sequence of QTEs I don't really care as I can't wait for the 'experience'.
As for being ahead of its time I guess we'll have to wait and see. It certainly looks as though it will add a new dimension to storytelling and immersion and as a gamer that is something I'm very excited about and look forward to seeing develop in the future.
