I think the AI in the trailer we've seen wasn't that impressive...however, that was a few months ago and the game is slated to launch around christmas next year. On the other hand, the game is too important to Sony. They will do everything to deliver a good FPS with a good campaign and a solid online multiplayer.
To be honest, the game looks like it's on track to be a very, very solid game considering the footage we've seen is from a build ~17 months before it'll be in stores.
Although it has nothing to do with how fun the gameplay will be, the visual effects i've seen in Killzone 2 so far are really stunning. Effects like motion-blur, depth of field and the lighting effects looked really great....and the blood, oh my god, the best looking blood i've ever seen in a game!
I don't know if the game will be as good as some people hope or claim it will be...what i do know is that i'm really looking forward to new footage of the game.
