Vivendi to Contribute Vivendi Games Valued at $8.1 Billion, Plus $1.7 Billion in Cash in Exchange for Approximately 52% Stake in Activision Blizzard at Closing; Total Transaction Valued at $18.9 Billion
Vivendi games division is gone to Ativision, but Vivendi now owns the whole thing. I am betting this is more a plan for Vivendi to get their games division to be useful for something other than the next Blizzard title. |
I will remain president and CEO of Blizzard Entertainment reporting to Bobby Kotick who is CEO of Activision Blizzard.
Originally Bobby Kotick gave Bruce Hack, CEO of Vivendi Games, a phone call. They met for lunch to chat about potential things the two companies could do together.

Most likely Activision plan the merge and go ahead with it even when it causes their share of the company to be smaller. Anyway this merge will allow both company to gain plenty of advantages
BTW it is also said in the press release that Vivendi could own as much as 68% of Activision Blizzard by the time the deal is over
