I hope it takes at least one (besides the obvious supporting actor Oscar), definitely a movie that deserves it. Well, the Oscars always disappoint me anyway, I don't know why I let myself care for this stuff...! |
Inglorious Basterds is also a shoe-in for Best Original Screenplay, and should have a decent shot at Best Editing, although Avatar and The Hurt Locker will give it some competition there. Tarantino also has an outside shot of winning Best Director, but I wouldn't count on it. Overall, expect two Oscars for the movie, with the possibility of another two.
By my guesstimation, if the Academy had kept the Best Pic nominations to five like they usually do, I would have anticipated them to be the following:
Avatar
Inglourious Basterds
Up In the Air
Precious
The Hurt Locker
