DS has really hit saturation point in Japan. At this point I think the majority of their sales is upgrading DS owners to DSi / DSiLL. I would highly expect a DS2 by end of year for Japan except it's still selling gangbusters in the rest of the world and DS2 would be premature anywhere but Japan. So maybe they'll let Japan slide for a year.
