Lost Odyssey was great. I just beat Magna Carta 2 last night and (I don't recommend it to anybody) I enjoyed it a lot!
RPG's aren't the critical darlings that they once were. Still, good ones are out there. Blue Dragon is good. Infinite Undiscovery wasn't too shabby, either. When you're in the mood for an JRPG, there is no substitute. The genre hasn't evolved much, but when you pick one up and get engrossed in the storyline and scope, it doesn't matter what Metacritic or Gamerankings score it.
