No. What that says is that his employer doesn't care about the success of video games so they pay him for analyzing profitability of companies. 

What you actually mean is that he can analyze the profitability of companies in the short-term... which brings me back to my original point.

He expected Sony to win the console war due to Blu-Ray.. surely that would affect any profitability analysis if he predicted anything more than short-term.
