Note that we are talking about the Wii's successor. WiiHD implies just a resolution upgrade to the same machine not a successor. Iwata has said that not such upgrade would justify an additional purchase to the consumer, and he is mostly right. I wouldn't pay $250+ to play the same games upscaled to 1080.
But the Wii's successor will have 1080 resolution, now will Nintendo go traditional and just make the new console more powerful with upgraded motion controls? or will it be a little more powerful just enough to get HD visuals but focused on even more engaging gameplay?
