Not necessarily biased, just goes out of its way to cause controversy, thus getting attention. I'm not the only one who thinks this, either so maybe this argument has some credibility to it. Also iirc games magazines like this 1 rely on advertising for revenue, so who's to say they haven't taken a "backhander"!
