Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition nicht in Japan
02.02.10 - Capcom wird die Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition für Xbox 360 nicht mehr in Japan ausliefern; das Spiel soll dort nur noch für die PS3 erscheinen. Das geht aus Capcoms Geschäftsbericht hervor.
Der Grund ist, dass Capcom mit zu niedrigen Verkaufszahlen rechnet. Die PS3-Version soll hingegen am 18.02.10 in Japan auf Blu-ray Disc in den Handel kommen. In Europa und den USA sollen sowohl Xbox 360- als auch PS3-Version ausgeliefert werden.
350.000 verkaufte Einheiten erhofft sich Capcom von dem Spiel weltweit.

I see this as a sign that 360 is dead in Japan.I cant see other reasons why they wont release it there. They dont have a contract with Sony why they wont release it in Japan ? And why are the expectations so low 350k is really low expectations.
Development costs arent that high for HD Consoles ?
The Expectations for Dark Void is also low just 600k worldwide. I think most HD games are profitable even if they dont reach 1 Million. Half a Million seems to be enough. Or even less than that. That also explains why the developers are satsified with the sales on HD Consoles. And this is for BOTH consoles. They break even with 300k each. The development costs decrease the longer the gen goes.
