I agree. But the resentment one and afrontment with the above remark makes one feel similar to many homosexual people who are denied the right to marry or suffer from derogative attitudes towards their sexuality.

If you don't like it, they surely don't aswell. Maybe people who are afronted by attacks on religion and churches should have a bit of empathy (and vice verca of course) and realise that both sides are hurt by each others remarks.

The simple solution is to live and let live.

I am neither gay nor Catholic.  Both of those comments were way out of line and HIGHLY insulting.

But as you said, live and let live.  The Catholic Church should be allowed to live as it wishes too.  That is all the Pope said.  Many people in this thread have insinuated he made some broad attack on the rights available to gays beyond the Church.

I've seen gay rights groups using these comments to imply that the Pope is attacking women's equality too.  Something that simply was not said or implied, and which this Pope has no history of doing.
