I don't know if you would call it an "ad" but Nintendo Power (If you subscribed to the magazine at the time) sent all the subscribers a VHS tape (Kids are wondering now what VHS is) of Donkey Kong Country.
Was very mind blowing at the time.
Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos
