I wonder what the excuse is this time...

Production problem???
too much a demand???

there is absolutely no excuse to have a console shortage in late Jan/early Feb. It's not like Nintendo is pumping out AAA title after AAA title in a short span

In December the Wii sold more consoles than any console has ever sold in a month, and they just had 3 games break 10 million sales, so yeah, they're a little behind in January.

But I'm sure you think those games aren't AAA, and each time a Nintendo game breaks 10 million sales it was some crazy accident.

again, were those games released on a short-span?

was Nintendo seeing "UNEXPECTED" high leve of sales? if yes, then they need to do a better job predicting the market.

They were all system sellers, and all evergreen titles.  Their success stacks up, even if they're all 1 or 2 months apart, and they had a price cut to maximize the momentum, and then they had the biggest Christmas of any video game system ever made.

wait, which 3 AAA titles that were released 1 or 2 months apart were you talking about?

Wii Sports Resort in July (13 million sales and counting).

Metroid Prime Trilogy in August.

$50 price cut in September.

Wii Fit Plus in October (9.5 million and counting).

New Super Mario Bros. Wii in November (11 million and counting).

All that momentum built up to a Christmas Nintendo explosion in December and shortages in January.

Damn, I forgot Wii Sports Resort was that early back in July.  I was talking about Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
