I'm still trying to discern what is meant by 'psychological thriller'.

My hope? That this isn't just another supernatural horror game. In fact, my hope is that there is nothing supernatural or sci-fi going on at all but instead is TRULY psychological, which would be unique for gaming.

Eh I don't, I personally love scifi + psychological thriller type movies. When they are lumped together I jizz in my pants.

Examples that make me jizz: Being John Malkovich, 13th Floor, etc.

You must wash a lot of pants.

I get what you're saying, but in gaming such story elements aren't that rare at all.  If AW has nothing supernatural in it (and yes, I differentiate between supernatural and sci-fi because they ARE different), it will be a lot more unique than if it does.  In a good way, imo.

Well story isn't too important to me for a game, if Alan Wake were to be truly psychological it wouldn't really earn any extra points from me, as for me washing a lot of pants, sadly no. I still only watch good sci-fi which is almost as rare as the pure "psychological thriller".
