Second, a Warcraft strategy game in the consoles would not be made by Blizzard since Blizzard does NOT make ports to consoles. Third, Blizzard likes to have control over their games, and I doubt they would outsource a strategy game porting to another company, who would have trouble to optimize the game since Blizzard makes their games first and foremost with the PC in mind.
Actually, they do port to consoles. Starcraft, Diablo, and Warcraft 2 were all put on consoles. They also aquired a studio that did just console development. They do have a surprisingly strong hold over their own IPs though. Mostly because Vivendi Universal Games is in the black almost solely because of the beast of a game that is WoW.
What I find most suspect is the claim that they will release console games at the same time as the movie. This would be the most unrealistic goal ever for Blizzard. They take forever to make a game. When it is done it tends to be fantastic, or they will scrap it while it is being developed for not being up to snuff. I can't wait for 2009 to come and have no sign of an accopanying game. Of course by then Surfer Girl will be long forgotten or disappear due to her absurd prediction about the next Nintendo handheld.
