The second half (holidays on) is just why it did it in 8 weeks. @main topic Anyways, NSMBWii sold 10m for the same reason tetris, super mario bros, pac-man, and other similar games sell. It is simple to pick up and play, (run, jump is the core mechanic) and is fun, however it also allows for a much more "hardcore" style of play (speedruns and such). Nostalgia may have caused some people to pick it up, but since Wii is only owned by kids and grandparents I don't see how anyone could have nostalgia for a game they never played. |
