If you mean the 'core' gamers already owning Wii's then yes possibly. There's too little info right now to make any sort of informed decision but it could possibly be the most successful Metroid (but that's not saying much really).
If you mean the HD 'mainstream' gamer then hell no, not a chance in hell. One game, will not get someone to buy a system unless it's a huge franchise, and offers endless replay or at least very long story mode. Zelda, Halo, FF, Gran Turismo yes. MoM? No. MH3 maybe. Now could MH3, MoM, The Last Story, Xenoblade and Zelda Wii combined prompt HD gamers to finally buy a Wii. Could be, could be. But aside from MH3 we know too little to even say that.
