Price is not an argument in Japan. PS3 costs around 480$ (60000￥) and the society is rather rich. Only reason of weak sale is lack of games. Japan market right now is made mostly of casual gamers. Maybe it's because of lack of free time maybe it's because of something totally different... I don't know. Fact is games like MGS4:GoP will help but PS3 in Japan needs also or maybe mostly games like upcoming Golf game. Maybe an answer for this is Europe. I think there is a big chance for Sony to win all currently small markets of eastern Europe. The standard of life is going up. More money to spent etc.
