MontanaHatchet said: No, you won't be. It's not about being serious; rather, it's about not overloading with smiles and Japanese words in English (which you didn't do with this post and I'm glad). But frankly, I no longer care. So much of Final Fantasy 7 is limit breaks, though. And while Cait Sith's limit break is potentially really powerful, the vast majority (and I mean the vast majority) of the time, it's pretty bad when compared to those of Cloud and Barret. Look, I'm not a huge Cait Sith hater. I had him in my party for a good while (up until I fought Jenova Death, or something). I tried to like him, but he's just not that great. His physical stats are worse than just about everyone (his megaphone attacks are pitiful), his limit breaks are lame, and his magic stats are terrible (his summons do significantly less damage than with other characters). Besides that one-in-a-million limit break you demonstrated, there's absolutely no use for him. Even Yuffie is better. Besides, I was talking about battle use from the beginning. I know that the likes of Gogo have no storyline significance, but I was arguing usefulness in battle. |
Ahem. In the two posts you were talking about I used four smilies and four Japanese words. That's very different from my understanding of the word "overload".
Anyway, Cait Sith's stats are pretty average all round. His megaphone does an average amount of damage and summons do an average amount of damage as well. Actually, he's slightly stronger than average, magic-wise; only Cloud and Aeris have naturally higher magic stats. It's all here.
BTW, you'll find that people who do the various "challenges" for FF7 (i.e. no matera, initial equipment, low level etc.) use him quite a lot...
BTW2,

MontanaHatchet said: Cait Sith is pathetically weak and actually almost ruins the main quest for the characters (secret doll working for Shinra anyone?). |
That's what I mean by talking about his role in the storyline.
