It's normal that fans don't like changes done in each new iteration of their favourite games, I was a bit dissapointed as well when the first pics were shown, didn't like the mood at all.
But Blizzard being what they are, they take heed of their fans complaints. While they are trying to stay as true to their vision as they can, they are also trying to get more of what fans are asking of them, and that's why they are one of my favourite developers.
They just need to release Diablo II 1.13 patch ASAP >_
