In case you didn't read the rest of the article, it mentioned that there are a lot of edge cases that produce inferior results using this AA method as compared to more industry standard methods.
DICE gave it a shot and while it seems to be good for still shots, apparently it suffers in motion.

Pandemic does get credit for being resourceful in hiding the technique's limitations, however.
