Its not that people are defending it, they are just not looking for reasons to not buy the game. Obviously this is not going to be the same as previous final fantasy were as there have been many sites and news with fan/nerd rage about it. Heck it could be the worst final fantasy of the entire series, but people still want to buy it because despite the linearity or the lack of towns it could still and it's looking like its a good game. I mean it's like them cutting town is now THE reason for me not to buy.
