They certainly have some issues with Metroid sales. The most obvious idea is to turn Metroid to some kind of a multiplayer shooter (quite cynical idea, isn't it? ^_^). But that's pretty competitive market, look how Sony is trying hard with Halo/GeoW-killers, and Resistance is the best they can do (and it sold what it sold mainly due to the fact it being a launch title). So botomline, Metroid should be what it is regardless of sales.
