I didn't actually vote in the poll, I just said Zelda, because so far this is my only experience with this franchise. All the other options, I haven't played iterations of, or haven't played one that I thought was overrated. So yeah, I should've put a caveat on that I guess. On a slightly unrelated note, is there anything similar in Spirit Tracks? If not, I'll definitely pick it up. |
Hrrrrk-
Sorry. I reacted more strongly than I should have. I am one of the few defenders of the Temple of the Ocean King.
The Tower of Spirits is sort of like the Temple of the Ocean King - it's a dungeon you travel to several times over the course of the game. However, it's also completely unlike the TotOK. here is why:
1. Each visit to the Spirit Tower is roughly as long as a standard dungeon, and the puzzle-solving is much harder.
2. There is no time limit mechanic.
3. You never have to revisit a floor if you don't want to. You reach different sections of the tower using a staircase, and can bypass all but your current section if you so choose. You can revisit to unlock secrets, but it's not a necessity.
4. The Phantom adds a puzzle-solving depth that was nowhere to be found in Phantom Hourglass.
If the Temple of the Ocean King was your only complaint about Phantom Hourglass, I think you owuld like SPirit Tracks quite a lot.
