The game is very polarizing. Some people (and some reviewers) like it, some hate it. Its a fantastic tactical MP shooter, in my opinion. It's certainly not CoD:MW2, and people expecting some giant 256 player CoD:MW2 mashup are going to be disappointed... erm not that a giant 256 player CoD:MW2 mashup would be fun to begin with.

If you never liked games like R6V, CS, or Delta Force, SOCOM, or BF2, etc... well for one thing you are a casual shooter player, and not fit to play online with the big boys ;) ...but also you should probably just stick with MW2 and Halo, unless you're interested in expanding your horizons to include something exciting and different.

At this point, the reviews are going all over the board. That tells me the reviewers who gave it 8-10 probably liked tactical shooters to begin with. MAG redefines the tactical shooter subgenre, really. Those that give it a score in a 7s... they didn't like tactical shooters to begin with. Heck why are they even reviewing the game?

I actually like a tactical shooter but have always though 256 players was a silly amount of players, 64 player servers are tough for tactical shooters.  I don't know about MAG as I've not played it but some tactical shooter fans will just be completely biased against huge numbers of players and will mark down accordingly through being unknowingly biased and pre judgemental.

because they are scaredy catz, lol but seriously you have really be lacking in the skill department, if a high number of players frightens you.....................without even playing the game,

a gamer that looks at 256 guys and says bring it on, with all intentions on playing tactically and strategically, thart's who MAG looking for, you know that saying

"seperate the boys from the MEN" only true hardcore will perail at this, it is indeed the most tactical shooter out there, simply because of the numbers, what a guy has to go threw on the battlefield of MAG is more intense than CS:S can only dream of.

now resistance 2, there a game where numbers are just for fun

Because large numbers = stupid and random, random = no skill.  Duel is still > anything when talking about skill, it is just you and your opponent no excuses, takes more balls than a 256 player FFA anyday.  That's why this game will not be competitive, not enough emphasis on individuals and not spectator friendly.

As you say in a 256 player game there is less emphasis on a single player being able to impact games, you're relying on getting a good team.  I'm not saying large numbers is bad because there will be many who want that experience, it's just not for everybody.  I don't lack any skill when it comes to FPS gaming by the way gamings_best, I just know what sort of game I enjoy playing when it comes to a tactical shooter.
