I just recruited Thane and will be going after Samara next. So far I wouldn't hesitate to call it the best RPG I've ever played and possibly the best game I've ever played, period.
The shooting is amazing on it's own, but the biotic and tech powers just make it so much more fun to play than any other TPS. As far as story telling and character interaction and replayability it is unmatched. Nothing comes close.
It is NOT graphics king, but it's up there (and I'm playing on PC on max settings). Armor/clothing is still pixelated up close. Textures are excellent most of the time and terrible sometimes. It's just a little rough around the edges. And if you say it has the best vistas and draw distance in games you obviously haven't played Uncharted 2.
