@ people mentioning that the number of players dont affect your experience. Or plays a significant role.
Lets pretend Mag would have 512 player and a 2 times bigger map would that change your personal experience ? Or if mag would have 1024 player and a 4 times bigger map ?
Still not ? What if Mag would have 1 Million Players and a 4000 times bigger Map ?
That would change the whole gameplay completly it wouldnt be even comparable to a FPS.
The number of players does affect everything. The tactics the gameplay. Thats like saying all FPS plays the same.
Mag is the first step to the future. I really see Online Wars with several thousend Players at one time and with different ranks some have the power to give orders to the people. Some would play a FPS some other a RTS. Some would be there just for the managing of ressources and supply.
mag plays different and its by no means generic. lets pretend it would have gotten 87% instead of 80% on Metacritic would that be a real difference ? Fun cant be measured.
This game will have a solid fanbase and its definetly a game which can attract some new customer to the userbase. I think such games shape a profile for a console games like heavy Rain and Mag.
