Well Nintendo needs to keep something for 2011 and 2012....  They have a pretty solid lineup right now as it is.  I think its more about pacing and making sure everything doesn't come out all at once like it did in 2009.  Plus, Nintendo can't really control the release of third party games.

And most likely Dragon Quest X is going to come out in 2012 or later.  Even Wada (head of SquareEnix) has made hints that he wants the game to come out in 2012.
