My point on the whole "leading" thing was them more acting *like* an industry leader. The Nintendo i'm seeing right now is the Nintendo i saw back in 2006, the Nintendo that was trying a little bit of everything in all segments of the market, making strange new stuff and awesome old stuff, and not so much the less energetic Nintendo that we've seen in the past few years

Not that i bought into all the "Nintendo is lazy" drive, just that there was a definite change in message from what they were making in 06, to what they were making in 08, to what they are making now again. The Nintendo that conquered the industry is back, instead of that lethargic 08-09 Nintendo that kinda reminded me of them in the late GameCube period, seemingly running on fumes and not really interested in wowing people.

I suppose this could just be a larger cycle of theirs, that Awesome Nintendo and Lazy Nintendo kinda move cyclically.
