I want it too, which I do believe is the first time for a MS product.  The thing is, everything they do someone else does better given a little time.  By the time I'm confident that the hardware isn't going to crap out after a year and that software support will be there, there WILL be a serious competitor and it might even be a second generation iPad.  MS practically can't win on this one (which is good for the market AND the consumer), but it'll be an interesting development to watch unfold if they do.

How many 10" virtual keyboards have you used? Just curious.

I love the mail cient, calendar, photo browsing and book store apps on the iPad. It's the integration of SW and HW that wins people over to Apple. Review sites always review one or the other, then complan that neither is as good as the best competitor. ie the iPad HW isn't as good as Lenovo tablet. Lenovo CPU is 2x faster! ipad sux!  And the ipad sw isn't as good as Toshiba's, Toshiba has pen input! Ipad sux! . But you can't run Toshiba's SW on the lenovo HW, so both comparisons miss the true feature of all apple products - the integration of SW and HW.

Courier will be 8lbs, $2000, slow as molasses and two years too late.

Trying to convince me the Wii is a real adult game machine 'if you play it right' is like trying to convince me Tofu tastes great 'if you just cook it right'
