On my ME1 character, I used him prior to realizing that it wasn't my 'optimal' decision tree for ME1: - I saved the council, elected Anderson (real ME1 character let them die)...Obviously, this is pretty big on the storyline - I saved Kaiden (of course, I would have rather saved Ashley and on my ME1 character, I did) - I saved Fist (blasted him on most other saves But yeah, ME2 is a fantastic RPG. It just now has decent tactical TPS elements rather than 'hey lets stay out in the open and win the battle 90% of the time'. In ME2, you CAN NOT take down any number of enemies by the rudimentary tactics used by most ME1 characters. For example, there's a small side mission you can take by completing other missions for a character on Omega. The reward is the location of containers full of goods that can be sold for a profit. Unfortunately, the area has 3 of the YMIR heavy mechs which use mini-guns and missile launchers. Guess what? If you stay out in the open, you may take down half of one of its 3 life bars. In ME1, you could probably win by staying out in the open. Heck, I beat Geth Armitures and Colossus that way by running around like a madman. When people talk about ME2, they are just talking about whats different, not whats the same. As I said, 80% is the same great game. 10-15% is better, 5-10% is worse. |
Those heavy mechs were a bitch.
I got owned about five times.
