This is a very simple question and the answer is a big fat YES!!!!
Look at iPod Touch & iPhone.
The apple app store currently has more games available for iPhone than PS3+360+Wii+DS+PSP have combined. All of those games will not be compatible with iPad. All they realistically have to do is make games that are specifically for it as well.
