Wait... No TOWNS.  How's that work?  I mean no cities at all and such.  I mean granted I can't even remember the last time a random NPCs said anything I cared about, probably Earthbound or Chrono Trigger... but wow.

Isn't this game set in like.... an urban jungle of mechanics?

There are a few towns, mainly in Cocoon and a few villages on Pulse, but nothing in the numbers of non FFX team FF's. FFX didn't have much towns as well. 

There are bound to be a few exaggerations here and there. Heck, the entire first portion of the game is done inside a city itself, so how could there be no towns :P
