Again though, what advantage does the iPad GPS have over the iPhone or iPod Touch GPS?

  • Walking around a city I don't want to hold an iPad
  • Driving in a car, I don't want to hold an iPad
  • Being a passanger giving directions is nice, but it's not so much better that it's worth the extra money.

Actually the deal breaker is in disolitudes post, no flash and no HDMI out. I usually sit my GPS in the seat beside me when driving so a larger screen is useful to me. Walking around a city it would be preferable to have an iPad than a laptop as its lighter and I hate to be encumbered, however I have no need for a full keyboard as I generally just check for updates in important information. Personally the Courier is likely to be more suitable to my needs.

My above examples were iPad vs. iPhone/iPod Touch, not iPad vs. laptop

There's not a lot the iPad does better than than the iPhone/iPod Touch that warrants that much extra money ontop of *another* monthly 3G charge.

And yeah, I only just heard about the Courier today but it already sounds pretty awesome.  Hopefully it gets made and it isn't stupid expensive.

Also, I know the iPad doesn't support Adobe Flash, what about Adobe Acrobat or PDF files in general?  That's another pretty major thing.
