I don't think there is any question Jared would not have been as productive, but like you said - it wouldn't have changed the outcome, just the severity. I actually disagree with the idea that Edwards would have been completely shut down though, he was having a great game even before Jared got going...again we can speculate it might not have been as good...but the whole excercise is just that...speculation.
I can speculate what would have happened if Favre had run for 5-6 more yards and then out of bounds and let us kick the game-winning field goal....but he didn't. I could speculate about what would have happened if Peterson, Berrian, or Harvin hadn't fumbled...but they did. In both cases it sucks for the fans to have to watch it fall apart - but unfortunately sports is a zero sum game and someone has to lose.
Really though something I would point out is that whenever you have a blowout in an NFL game it goes a lot deeper than just one person being injured or one person not stepping up. But I think thats what makes the game worth watching....
