Persona 5 wouldn't bring as many Japanese gamers to the Xbox 360 fold as Star Ocean and Tales already did. Persona is not an obscure IP by any means but it doesn't have name value on the level of Tales and Star Ocean in Japan. So if Persona 5 was moneyhatted, that would be a bad idea. And ATLUS wouldn't make it 360 exclusive without a moneyhat. The Xbox 360 would receive a spike for a week or two but then after that it'll go back to normal levels. That's not worth a moneyhat.

Also, NIS didn't publish Cross Edge Dash. IdeaFactory self-published it in Japan. It's not NIS' game at all (they just license it for NA publishing). So technically, NIS is a Xbox 360 virgin. If NIS turns out to be one of the new Japanese developers to the 360, I wouldn't be surprised. A number of niche Japanese developers have developed for the Xbox 360 (Cave and other shmup developers, 5pb and other visual novel/dating sim developers). The console is cheap to develop for (making it ideal for niche projects) and has a hardcore install base that likes to buy niche games. Install base does matter but when it comes to niche jrpgs, shmups, visual novels, dating sims, etc. sales potential is very limited anyway so cheap development solutions become more important in these situations. Disgaea 3 sold 110k on PS3 and a comparably niche jrpg (moreso than Disgaea since it's a new IP) Eternal Sonata sold 80k on the 360. Taking that into account and the fact that the 360 is cheap to develop for, a Xbox 360 exclusive NIS jprg wouldn't be a bad idea. Especially after Last Rebellion bombed hard (famitsu rated it poorly, pre-orders are very low), what do they have to lose? lol.

@Deidara
That's why the Xbox 360 has the best tie ratio (software to hardware ratio) in Japan right? Buying a lot of 360 games is quite a unique way for them to show their hatred for M$.
