It doesn't really matter if one's definition of "hardcore" games don't sell too well on Wii. Nintendo has it's own strategy and if third party developers can't make something sell then it is their fault. The only thing that needs to be said is that they need to make better quality games and let the quality sell the game not depend on advertising. It also doesn't help when Nintendo makes better games than most third parties. The only third party game made for the Wii which I think should have sold more would be Little King's Story. Almost all other games have sold what they should have.

Maybe developers don't try harder on Wii because even poor games that Nintendo makes sell better than most games third parties make on the system regardless of quality.  Look at the Top Ten Wii games according to Metacritic and compare their sales to the top 10 best selling games on Wii and their Metacritic scores.

It's not quality that sells the most on Wii because SMG has the highest Metacritic score of any game on Wii, yet it's not in the top five in sales.

And yet it is still one of the best selling games this gen, go figure..

But it's only #9 on the Wii and behind games that have received Critic scores in the low 8's, 7's, and even one 5 to 6 range game.  And the Wii's second highest rated game Twilight Princess is only #12 in sales on the Wii.

There hasn't been a similar pattern to this on any console in a long time.  You don't see top rated games on 360 or PS3 being behind 7s, low 8s, and 5s in sales.

Regardless the game will probably have sold 10 million when all is said and done, which is so damn good i dont think anyone should care what comes above or below that!
