Only Mitsubishi DLPs and 2 samsung plasmas from 2009 support 3D. Few 2008 models as well...and thats about it. No LCDs will work.
Wait for 2010 models and it will be more clear. Lots of options are coming your way. You don't have to get a Sony TV to work with PS3 3D etc...it should be universal.
