I completely agree with that, both fantastic movies. The Devil's Backbone is definately worth watching, not quite as good as Pan's Labyrinth but a great film non the less.
I really didn't enjoy The Royal Tenenbaums but for whatever reason I just don't 'get' Wes Anderson films, they seem to be a love/hate thing.
Would probably have Donnie Darko and Mulholland Drive on my 2001 list as well.
