The difference being that Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan played in different eras. Had they played at the same time, there would have been no confusion. One would have been thought of as better than the other. We're talking about two guys playing at the same time under the same teams and conditions. You're essentially talking about comparing Jim Brown to Emmitt Smith. Chris Johnson is simply better than All Day until it's proven otherwise.

Wilt and Kobe can't really be compared outside of statistics. They play two different positions. You see what I did there?

Secondly, statistics don't always make the case.

Round 2:

Kobe and LeBron make the perfect case.

-Kobe is better than LeBron anyday of the week. Why? You want him to make the last play.

Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan also make a good case.

-KG for most of his career has been the better guy statistically. But TD is recognized by everyone as the better player.

So what you're trying to tell me is that the same people that are wrong about Tim Duncan being better than Kevin Garnett are the same people that are wrong about Adrian Peterson being better than Chris Johnson? Gotcha.
