I just learned about something happening in my own neighborhood... Something that made me sick, but also made me think back to a prior conversation with NFG on this very thread (no, not the one that ended with the inappropriate jpeg, but one before that)... A girl in my neighborhood got abducted a few days earlier... Her mom is worried sick, of course, but I could do little to inform/comfort her... And bear in mind that I found out about this on my way back from Taco Bell, so I felt a little sick beforehand (from quantity, not quality; try eating 5 Beefy 5-Layer Burritos and then tell me how you feel; yes, I had 5 of them, got a problem?). Some people don't seem to realize that so many others care so much about them, and won't until it's too late... The topic of that mini-conversation was abduction and exploitation through the internet... I don't know if this is a case of MIRL (it probably isn't: her mom suspected that the person/people who took her live close by), but the same rules definitely apply... So before you hop in a car with a stranger, I ask that you think about the people who give a damn about you, because those same people will be going berserk and losing hair trying to get you back, and those same people will be the most visibly shaken should you wind up dead! Tell your kids, tell your grandkids, tell your great-grandkids should you live to see them, "DO NOT ACCEPT RIDES FROM STRANGERS OR PEOPLE YOU KNOW FROM THE INTERWEBS!" (and that includes Social Networking sites)

Just wanted to get that off of my chest...
