I agree with the simple answer.
BF:BC2 quality will be better but there are far too many fools for the sales to be better.
Most console gamers like the same old generic and simplified shooter experience.
Still very impressed with what I saw in the PS3 beta and will be starting the PC beta in 2 days!!
Its basically BF3 but without jets and boats and possibly commanders (although PC version is supposed to have 'expanded squad play' whatever that is?)

Sad about the no mod support but adjustable config files for servers are better than nothing.
Also wish the multiplayer was up to 64 players but 32 is acceptable although I hope the rumor that
they will allow server admins to run games with 40 is true. In BF, the more the merrier and crazier the games get ;)

If you haven't played/bought BF2 yet then I highly suggest it since you can get the complete version with all expansion packs for pretty cheap. BF2 is still the best large scale, squad based FPS on any platform next to BF1942. If you meant Bad Company 2 then nevermind  ;)   Look forward to Battlefield 3, the true sucessor to BF2 in 2011.
