Capcom lazy again. I doubt Nintendo would stop DLC if Capcom did it themselves. Like My Life as a Dark Overlord. I suspect Campcom want's to use Nintendo WiiWare shop as it's medium. Since WiiWare is software and extra characters are data packages I doubt Nintendo would say yes.
This is a Capcom blame shift damage control for being lazy before the problem get's bigger. It was like the days when Harmonix said Nintendo Wii is not capable of music DLC because it didn't have an HDD, so etc. Then some Kareoke game showed that you could. Red Octane said they didn't get DLC ready for GH3, but proved it with GHWT. Of course then Harmonix had egg of their face for bullshitting and had to follow suit by not being lazy asses.
If GH,RB,My Life as a King/Darkover Lord... and whatever games have DLC handled internally then it's not hard.
As a note from personal experience. I found that file transfers over the internet is no where near rocket surgery. It's actually easier then it sounds. The more complicated parts deal with package ownership and financial transaction handling. Though I suspect those aren't rocket science either.
Capcom stop being lazy. If you want DLC, do it and don't bullshit early damage control. Also I don't like Capcom definition of DLC. Costume colour changes? Bethesda did this crap in the early days and learned that's a bad model for DLC. When is Capcom going to stop it.
I so want to hear Wright do his Object attacked. I wonder who would be his base fighting style of fight from. Ryu is a common template.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
